Ichiro suzuki, nicknamed "Ichi" The Hits Man, has a cool job. some mihgt
say that as a professional baseball player,he has the best job in the world. he plays a
game he loves, he breaks, and he has millions of fans. however, as we must
do for most good things, he worked hard for his position.
ichiro started playing with a toy ball and bat when he
was three. when he was seven, he joined his first baseball
team, and the real practice began. ichiro and his dad world
practice pitching and fielding, bou mostly batting. he hit
pitch after pitch after pitch,working hard to become the
best hitter he could.
by the time he was 12, ichiro had decided that he
wanted to be a professional baseball player. that was when
the game became somewhat more work and less fun. with
his father, he did difficult exercises to become stronger,
because he wasn't naturally big or muscular.
ichiro once said, "I'm not a big guy, and hopefully kids can look at me and see
that I'm not muscular and not physically imposing, that I'm just a regular guy. so if
somebody with a rdgular body can get into the record books, kids can look at that.
that world make me happy."
he coninued to use concentration to master
baseball (the word for concentration was once written
on his glove) and was accepted into a high school with a
great baseball program.
ichiro was drafted into the japanese professional
baseball system right ager high school. he had a streak
of professional accomplishments in japan and later in the
united states, but he never stopped working to be better
and better. the story of ichiro is that of a man who earned
every bit of his success through his own hard work.
