In the USA, for most full-time job, people work 40 hours a week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Most people do not work on weekends. Workers get days off on all the big holidays, like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.Sometimes, holidays are on Friday or Monday . Then people have three days off. People usually get away from work for a vacation once a year. Vacations often last from five to ten days. The summer and winter are vacation seasons. That’s why children don't go to school during the summer. And, schools are closed for two weeks every winter.
